Celebrations at Long Beach

3 weeks ago, we celebrated the Wedding Anniversary of Baby's Daddy and Mummy. While Aunty and Uncle couldn't quite agree whether it's the 28th (or "the 27th", claimed Uncle) anniversary, it was an occasion which warranted a celebration. Commitment issues have become such a trend with younger couples these days, that it tells alot when a couple stayed married and committed to each other through a period stretching nearly 4 x "of the 7-year itch".

Aunty and Uncle actions in-sync

For the occasion, Uncle decided to take Aunty (with us tagging along) to the Long Beach Restaurant at IMM for dinner. I duly congratulated Uncle for the 'Happy Occasion' along the way, to which he replied jokingly, "No need to wish me happy anniversary, wish me good fortune. We'll be happier still!"

The happy couples

Well as the Chinese says, happiness comes in double doses. After we finished our meal while shopping, Uncle chuckled and announced, "Thank you for your wishes Cheng Yang, I just struck the 2nd prize (4D) tonight!"

All of us happily rejoiced, and Aunty quickly added, "Hey remember your promise to me. I'll get my 10% cut from this."

"Me leh, me leh, do I get a cut of your cut too?" Baby (enthusiastically + innocently) chipped in.

Me leh? Do I get a cut?

"Let's come back for another meal next week" Uncle generously offered, while acknowledging Aunty's comment on the way home.

And last week, we went back for round 2 at Long Beach Restaurant. This time we came to celebrate the occasion of the Khang Family winning the 2nd prize at 4D. Apparently, Aunty also bought a 'small' share in the same winning number, which is in fact Uncle's car registration plate no, too.

Chili Crap Crab

This time, we ordered the mouth-watering Chili Crab which we missed out during our previous visit. Eating the golden (fried) man tou dipped in the chili sauce was a savory indulgence. Not minding the carbs or calories, we totally indulge ourselves in the heavenly taste. This is so worth dieting for tomorrow.

Aunty cast her envious looks on the delectable Chili Crab

Baby, the gourmet, did have one complaint. "Tsk, the crab is too soft. The meat is not filling enough."

Baby, looking none-too-please with the less than perfect crab meat

"Haiya, next time I should go choose the crab personally," Aunty injected.

Well though she did get her cut of the prize money, Aunty unfortunately (for her), missed out on the crab as she just recovered from a food allergy, and is keen to avoid seafood for now.

Aunty could only looked while we happily devoured the Chili Crab

P.S For the keen-eyed observer, you might have noticed that we took the same table in both our visits. Aunty even brought the same COACH bag and wore the same Burberry polo tee in both visits. I'm guessing she hoped the 4D draw tonight would yield similar good results, no harm being a little superstitious here. =)

Happy with the food and company
